Industrial Engineering Branch

About the Branch:

The branch teach students to design and improve and develop scientific methods and evaluate various industrial system through the application of scientific and engineering methods optimal use of available resources of workers, machines, knowledge, capital and so on. So that the student the possibility of proper planning industrial management efficient provided.

· The number of faculty members in section (2) professor, (4) assistant professor, (6) teachers, (11) an assistant teacher in addition to the five engineers.

The branch established in 1987 in order to attain the increasing needs for under & post graduate cadres in industrial engineering specialization.

The branch concerned with learning scientific techniques required in designing, improving, developing and evaluating of different industrial systems, applying these techniques in order to optimize the available resources.

The graduates have an ability to apply, plan, manage and achieve integration of functions of industrial systems.

The graduates granted (B.Sc.) degree in industrial engineering science, and (M.Sc. or PhD) for post-graduation.

The vision of the branch:

Privilege and pioneer in industrial engineering science field in under & post-graduation studies to convoy the rapidly developments in technology and renew requirements of society.

The mission of the branch:

To establish a base of specialists in industrial engineering field.

The branch also interested in establishing strong relations with other universities and society, which presented by holding research, symposium, training courses and submitting engineering consult.

Objectives of the branch :

The main objectives are :

1. To create a qualified & sufficient industrial engineers having creative thinking ability and responsibility.

2. To provide students with theoretical, practical experiences, experimental methods, the use of advanced & computer techniques and automation in industrial engineering field.

3. Improving and renewal curricula studying to convoy the frequently and rapid developments in industrial engineering field.

4. The branch focuses on scientific researches and post graduate studies (MSc & PhD), directing them to serve society and solving its problem.

5. Finally, to insure and improve the performance to achieve and insure total quality and accreditation.

The mission of the branch:

· Industrial engineer graduate every year holds bachelor certificate approximately 30 students per year.

· Student gives a master’s degree and philosophy of doctor in industrial engineering science.

· A scientific seminar held annually, including the labor market requires.

· Participate in continuing education courses as lectures.

· Interaction with the industrial and service reality in Iraq’s problems.

· Ongoing scientific research.
