Scientific symposium (Metal Engineering ... National Industries Portal)

 

The Assistant President of the University of Technology for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hussein Hamid Karim, on Wednesday 1/11/2023, the specialized

symposium (for the Metallurgical Engineering Branch in the Department of Production and Minerals Engineering / University of Technology) tagged:-

The opening began with verses from the Holy Qur’an, I recited in the voice of Dr. Adel Ghanem Tohme from the department, then recited Surat Al-Fatihah on the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, then the national anthem was sung, after that the speech of the administrative assistant, followed by the speech of the department head, Prof. Dr. Mona Khudair Abbas.

The symposium included five working papers in two sessions. The first session was chaired by the head of the branch, Dr. Ali Mezher and the rapporteur, M. The oldest Raghad Mohieldin from the General Company for Mining Industries included three working papers:-

  • The role of metallurgical engineering in the national industries delivered by. Dr. Sami Abu Al-Nun from the department.
  • Automation processes in the metallurgical industries delivered by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Faleh from the University of Diyala.
  • Welding operations in metals and alloys delivered by Dr. Mohamed Medhat from the department.

After that, the work of the second session began, headed by Prof. Dr. Sami Abu Al-Noun and rapporteur Dr. Hijran Zine El Abidine (retired) and included two papers:

The first on the biological use of metals and alloys was given by Prof. Dr. Mona Khudair Abbas and the second on the role of the university in achieving the goals of sustainable development, delivered by Dr. Sami Al-Rubaie, then the attendees took a break, after which certificates of thanks and appreciation were distributed to the guests of the symposium. Then the symposium concluded by reading the recommendations delivered by Dr. Sami Ibrahim Al-Rubaie, Chairman of the Preparatory Committee. The recommendations emphasized:

  1. The importance of holding conferences and seminars between the university and other sectors.
  2. Summer training for students in other state departments.
  3. Raising industry problems to the university to solve them and extract applied research from them.
  4. Continuous updating of academic courses with international universities.
  5. Supplying the industry with the latest scientific developments in order to modernize its production lines and keep pace with the global community.
