In continuation to work within the initiative of the rector of Technology for cooperation between the scientific departments and the central library at the university, and to complete a series of scientific visits for students of the Production Engineering and Metallurgy. The Industrial Engineering Branch organized one of the department’s branches on Tuesday, 23-11-2021, a scientific visit for the third-stage students in it to the Central Library. Among the extra-curricular activities of the Department, which were confirmed by the Presidency of the University, the students were accompanied by Prof. Mustafa Ali and Dr. Samah Ali and L. Muhammad Rajeh, as they were received by a number of library officials and employees. The students were briefed about the library’s sections and halls, how to search for resources, issue an identification card for affiliation with the library, and the reading room, which has a free internet service during working hours, which it provides to students to support the scientific process.

On Monday morning, 25/10/2021, a seminar was held to discuss the research path of doctoral students in the Metallurgy- Engineering Branch. The percentage of their achievement in the presence of members of the Graduate Studies Committee and a number of faculty and associates in Hall No. (5) of the department. The students reviewed the achievements made in their research and were discussed through Scientific inquiries raised by the Graduate Studies Committee, in addition to valuable interventions by the attendees.

A number of teachers from the Department of Production and Minerals participated in the first international conference on quality, which was held at the Technical Institute / Karbala for the period from August 26-28. Both were presented by Dr. Lama Adnan Al Kindi, Prof. Attia Al-Zuhairi, Prof. Zainab Allawi Al-Baldawi and graduate student Ayat Sabah have conducted research on the importance of using simulation in developing productivity, as well as the role of simulation in enhancing students’ comprehension of the vocabulary of one of the engineering subjects. The conference, which was held by Al Furat Al Awsat Technical University in cooperation with the International Islamic University in Malaysia, included fifty research papers in various fields. It is worth noting that the conference witnessed a high-level official presence, represented by the advisor of the Ministry of Higher Education, a number of presidents and assistant presidents of universities, deans of colleges and institutes in a number of Iraqi universities, representatives of the Husseiniya and Abbasid holy shrines, and a large gathering of professors and researchers

Students of the Production Engineering and Metallurgy Department at the University of Technology / first stage in its five branches (Production Engineering, Mineral Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing Engineering) have started the final exams for the first semester of the academic year 2020/2021 for the subjects in which the electronic exam is adopted and on (Google Classroom) platform on Saturday 3/4/2021 at nine o'clock in the morning, and the examinations took place under the direct supervision of the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Mona Khudair Abbas and the assistants, and under the management of the head of the examination committee in the department, Assistant Prof. Dr. Muhannad Muhammad al-Khafaji (scientific assistant ) And members of the committee responsible for managing and implementing electronic examinations for the primary study in cooperation with faculty members to follow up the presence of students and ensure that the answer is received through the electronic platform. And under the supervision of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr.Ahmed Muhammad Al-Ghabban inspected and followed up the progress of these electronic exams, and on the other hand, the Assistant rector of the University for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies,Assistant Prof. Dr.Haider Abed Dhahad also inspected the examinations for the first course of postgraduate studies (MA and PhD) to overcome all obstacles for students, as the examinations were held in a calm atmosphere and without obstacles.
