The Graduate Studies Committee in the Production Engineering and Metallurgy Department conducted a seminar for a master’s student in the Branch of Production Engineering (Loay Muslim Amer) for his research entitled (Studying the effect of adding nanomaterials to cutting fluids on the surface roughness and tool temperature). The seminar talked about the research summary, which is an addition Nanomaterials to cutting fluids and knowing their effect on the surface roughness and tool temperature, where the work was carried out on a CNC lathe and with the minimum lubrication system (MQL), where encouraging results appeared with a decrease in the surface roughness and tool temperature.

Under the patronage of the President of the University of TechnologyDr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, the Research and Development Division of the Scientific Assistant’s Office at the University of Technology, in cooperation with Kapita Company, held the dialogue forum “Bashed from the Base” within the initiative of the Orange Corners Baghdad Program for Youth Training, in the hall of the Department of Production and Minerals Engineering, in the presence of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies A .Dr. Haider Abed Dahoud, Head of the Production Engineering and Metallurgy Department, Prof.Dr. Mona Khudair Abbas and a number of department heads, teachers and university students. The forum aimed to urge students to develop their ideas and develop them to be the nucleus of developing projects and to move towards the private sector. Within this initiative, the labor market, youth opportunities in the private sector, and the importance of emerging, medium and small projects in developing the private sector in Iraq were discussed. The scientific assistant to the president of the university, Prof. Haider Abed Dahd, indicated in his speech to the university's vision in developing and developing students' skills. While the official of the Research and Development Division at the university, Dr. Amjad Al-Ezzi about the current programs implemented by the Division for the training and development of students and the upcoming programs. Under the title (The Phenomenon of Bullying and Human Rights), the Production Engineering and Metallurgy Department held a workshop in cooperation with the Psychological Guidance and Educational Guidance Unit and the Al-Khilani Cultural and Social Foundation, on Wednesday 16/3/2022 at the hall of the late Mr. Jassem Al-Hayani. .A lecturer Asaad Hassan Laftah, then Engineer Muhammad Makki Al Issa, responsible for the cultural department at the Al-Khilani Cultural and Social Foundation, gave a lecture on the phenomenon of bullying in terms of its beginnings, origins and spread until it became a phenomenon that includes all segments of society, especially the academic student community, and touched on the most important solutions to this phenomenon. The lecture included interventions and questions for some The lecturers and students present, then the workshop was concluded by presenting the certificate of appreciation to the lecturer. On the sidelines of the workshop, a number of retired employees were honored with shields presented on behalf of the department. The Production Engineering and Metallurgy Department at the University of Technology hosted an awareness symposium on “the dangers of rumors and drugs and their effects on society”, which was held by the Department of Computer Science in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior / Department of Fighting Rumors in the hall of the late Mr. Alia Karim Abdel Hassan and Prof. Dr. Muhannad Muhammad Hussein, the scientific assistant to the head of the Department of Production and Metallurgy Engineering, and a number of teachers, associates and students. The symposium was attended by the Director of the Department of Fighting Rumors in the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Nibras Muhammad Ali, and Captain Haider Hadi, a researcher in the field of fighting rumours. The symposium showed the dangers of drugs and the most important negatives of social networking sites, including rumors and crimes of electronic extortion, and the need for the individual to have a legal culture to deal positively with them. At the end of the symposium, certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participants.
