A workshop on rationalizing electric energy consumption

 

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thamer Al-Muhtarm and under the direct supervision of the Head of the Department Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Abbar Khalif al-Muhtarm and in the presence of a number of branch heads, faculty, employees and students of the department, the Production Engineering and metallurgy department  held on Monday, 6/5/2019 Entitled (rationalization of electric energy consumption is an urgent national necessity) The workshop included two lectures where the first lecture was given by Prof. Aqil Sabri Baden and it was entitled:

(Rationalization of the consumption of electrical energy) .. In which the most important methods used in the world to reduce the consumption of electrical energy were presented, in addition to offering the latest studies in this field that focus on the environmental and economic impact at the individual and state level.

As for the second lecture, it was given by Dr. Majid Ibrahim Fadel, and it was entitled:

(The basic rules for thermal insulation of buildings) .. As this lecture defines thermal insulation and its most important benefits, the procedures that can be taken at the individual level to reduce energy consumption through good thermal insulation that is done through the proper design of the building and the use of the latest methods used are explained. In isolating the buildings, the workshop featured important scientific discussions between the lecturers and the honored attendees. The workshop came out with a set of recommendations, the most important of which are:

 

1- The necessity of continuing awareness campaigns in the field of electric energy consumption.

 2- The necessity of enacting laws and legislations that oblige the citizen to implement thermal insulation when constructing housing units. At the end of the workshop, certificates of appreciation were distributed, and the attendees praised the workshop and its importance in the present time.
