(Microstructure and mechanical properties of laser surface melting hot forging die tool steel)

in supervision of Dr. Ameen Daway and Dr. Mohammed Jassim .

The aim of this research is to appear the impact of react of melting formed steel tool surface by heat to the mechanical properties and microstructure for this kind of steel of which used as forging production as dies utilized in industrial applications in order to improve the properties and increase the dies age
Admin Assistant Porf. Dr. Sami abo alnoon,head of biomedical engineering department Prof. Dr. Wisam Kadhum , Dr. Ali Abar head of production engineering and metallurgy department and staff of teachers have been attended and discussed the PHD student and showed the performance percentage of the research. Celebration on occasion of Dr. Maan safety return

After absence from our department due to ailment Assistance Pro. Maan Abid Tawfiq has been returned form his treatment trip where he had surgery operation, and thank God that he recovered with his usual smile. On this occasion all staff submits their congratulation for his recover. Dr. Maan has welcomed all staff in his headquarter in production engineering and metallurgy department. His students held special celebrity and they documented those delightful moments with their respectable pro.

Third meeting for deans engineering colleges committee in Iraqi universities

Head department assistance pro. Ali Abar Khlif has participated in third meeting for engineering college’s deans committee in Iraqi universities for the study year 2017-2018 of which was headed by Dr, Riyadh Hassan Alanbary. The meeting was held in engineering collage of Dayala University on Thursday 5th of April where it has been discussed committee duties schedule, also exchanged ideas and opinions among deans who presented in the meeting. In addition of that they reviewed and catch sight engineering departments, labs and library division in engineering collage at university of Dayala.

The Section holds a celebration marking the Women's Day

In the presence of the President of the University of Technology Prof. Amin Douai and the Head of the Department of Production and Metallurgy Engineering, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Abbar Khalif held a special ceremony in the hall of Mr. Jassim Al-Hayani on the occasion of Women's Day. Where the ceremony was opened by a speech from the distinguished president of the university, in which he mentioned the distinguished role played by the Iraqi woman in education and in supporting the wheel of development and education in the country. He praised the role of women in the department of production engineering and minerals from the teaching staff and engineers to the administrators and wished them success and success in this light On the occasion of the occasion, the scientific assistant Dr. Aseel Hamad Abdul Kalma stated the honorable positions that women play in the society in general and in the educational environment, in particular, and Eng. Asaad Hasan Al-Zamili participated in the announcement of the glorification of Iraqi women in all fields of society. A special taste for the atmosphere of this celebration was the presence of Prof. Dr. Nawal Ezzat as well as Assist. Prof.Dr.Mai George. The ceremony concluded by taking commemorative pictures to commemorate this beautiful anniversary

Workshop for teachers and staff of the department

Under the patronage of the Head of the Department of Production and Metal Engineering, the Unit for the follow-up of graduates in the department held a workshop for the teaching staff of the department and the students of the fourth stage on the evaluation of engineering materials using the electronic microscope scanner. The workshop received a remarkable success through the dialogue and the group of inquiries. In conclusion, we thank all who contributed to the success of this workshop.

Participation in an international scientific conference

Sponsored by Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al Essa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, under the theme of Sustainable Engineering and its Applications, in cooperation with the IEEE International Foundation. Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Abar Khalif, Head of Production and Metallurgy Engineering Department, and Mr. Ahmed Abdel-Rahim Shnaoua, participated in the second international scientific conference and the first in the applications of sustainable engineering held at the Faculty of Engineering / Wasit University, held on 14-15 March 2018. Their participation in the research entitled: ))(System Aided 3D Object Reconstruction and Machining using CNC milling.
The conference was attended by researchers from different countries of the world as well as researchers from different universities in Iraq. The number of accepted researches and participation in the conference reached 49 out of 150 researches distributed in six axes: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials.

IThe Production Engineering Branch held on Tuesday 13/3/2018 in the hall of the late Mr. Jassem Shehab Al-Hayani the Seminar Session to discuss the projects of the fourth phase students in the branch in the presence of the Head of Department. Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Abbar Khalif and the head of the branch. Abbas Fadhel Ibrahim and a number of students of the branch, where students briefly reviewed the most important achievements in their projects and their discussion through the scientific inquiries put forward by the Committee in addition to valuable interventions for the attendance.
