Developing Production Control System In Industrial Firm:

Abstract:

Contemporary manufacturing systems face challenges due to globalization, changes on working environment, improve standards of quality, fast technological mutation, and changes of production paradigms. This continuous market changes have impacts at all manufacturing and different levels from company management. Therefore, an Appropriate shop floor control system, is important for integration of all manufacturing system levels.

This project aims to study the current state of production control system in (State Company For Leather Industries)/Ministry of  Industry and developing production control system so as to increase utilization of production resources.

In order to maximize utilization of equipment, labor, and storage space that reduce direct cost, a developed order progress reports are introduced employing MICROSOFT EXCELL program. The data in these reports are hypothetically introduced since the actual data are not available in the factory.

The Results concludes that the Order progress reports are very important to monitor and follow up detailed  production processes and  it is beneficial to other department such as  maintenance,  training department, Financial departments. It is very important to employ computerized system to the PCS instead of the paper-base system used in the company to improve productivity and reduce cost. Recommendations focused on Using computer based PCS to the factory and the whole company and developing Database that store the history data of the company to reveal, data to the whole managing levels whenever needed. This Database should be integrated with the PCS in this company.

Production Planning Of Blending Process Using Linear Programming: Abstract:

Blending problems are a typical application of a (linear programming). They involve blending several resources or material to create one or more product corresponding to a demand.

Blending process is  an essential process which can be used in a diverse of applications which can be used assist the decision maker to use the correct amount of ingredients from diverse of resources to reach to the required and desired product .this process  can be controlled through using the available material with relevant costs in order to develop the final one which contains the required amounts of specifications with minimum cost.

The methodology of processing the blending process is developed with all related components. these components are related to defining the problem    itself and then specifying the decision variable ,the objective function of minimization the require components in accordance with required specification is specific .the methodology can be considered as the guide line to the decision maker to assist to develop the model in a scientific steps.

Due to the difficulties facing the researches to final real area of application, it is applied on a theoretical case study showing all steps of  application the  methodology in manner similar to real case. The application was gone through blending special food which must contains the specific ingredients. These ingredients can be obtained from different resources with limitation on availability as well as with different costs and keeping the minimization of final product cost as an objective to the decision maker to be reached.

The developed model then is solved using the available and readymade  Software WINQSP. The solution shows the required quantities to be blend from different available resources .Moreover, sensitivity analysis  is carried out to enforce the decision maker with spread view of related information about controlling and expanding the blending process.

Design And Make A Product From Waste Material That Could Be Sold For Profit .

Abstract:

The accumulation of waste causes serious impact on humans, environment, public health and safety. Recycling is a process to convert waste materials into reusable material to prevent waste of potentially useful materials, reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, reduce energy usage, reduce air and water pollution. The aim of recycling is eliminating waste materials that may be beneficial. Examples for recycling are recycled plastic, food and waste paper.

In this project recycled paper is used for the production of eggs layer as proposed product to be manufactured from waste material. Displaying technical

specifications and steps for manufacturing is performed in order to calculate the costs and then profit. Paper recycling is a series of processes are classification, separation of waste on the basis of their existing raw materials, and then reprocessing of each article separately. Calculation of direct and indirect cost and the selling price of a product are performed. Direct cost includes compounded materials cost, machine and equipment cost and labors cost. Indirect cost includes electric power cost, fuel cost, water cost and cleaning cost. The conclusions of this project showed that waste paper could be used for remanufacturing useful product such as egg layer which could be sold with profit. The profits gained when selling products produced from of recycled materials in the case study of this project concludes that a profit of 1406$is gained with a monthly batch of egg layers.

Recommended suggested focused on expansion of the paper collection centers and expansion in the creation of re-processing and recycling of waste paper factories. Increase the awareness of the Iraqi community in the classification of waste collection is another suggestion in this project.
