The Department of Production Engineering and Metallurgy, represented by its council, honored Assistant Prof.Dr. Essam Younes, Director of the Registration and Student Affairs Department at the University of Technology, with the Shield of singularity  and a letter of thanks, in appreciation of his efforts to serve the university in general and the department in particular throughout his administration of the registration and student affairs department at the university. Also all employees of the registration department. The shield was presented by Mrs. Head of Production Engineering and Metallurgy  Department, Prof. Dr.Mona Khudair Abbas, in the presence of the department council members and the director of registration in it.

Examinations continue to be taken by students of the Production Engineering and Metallurgy Department at the University of Technology

             

 

Students of the Production Engineering and Metallurgy Department at the University of Technology / first stage in its five branches (Production Engineering, Mineral Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing Engineering) have started the final exams for the first semester of the academic year 2020/2021 for the subjects in which the electronic exam is adopted and on (Google Classroom) platform on Saturday 3/4/2021 at nine o'clock in the morning, and the examinations took place under the direct supervision of the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Mona Khudair Abbas and the assistants, and under the management of the head of the examination committee in the department, Assistant Prof. Dr. Muhannad Muhammad al-Khafaji (scientific assistant ) And members of the committee responsible for managing and implementing electronic examinations for the primary study in cooperation with faculty members to follow up the presence of students and ensure that the answer is received through the electronic platform. And under the supervision of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr.Ahmed Muhammad Al-Ghabban inspected and followed up the progress of these electronic exams, and on the other hand, the Assistant rector of the University for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies,Assistant  Prof. Dr.Haider Abed Dhahad also inspected the examinations for the first course of postgraduate studies (MA and PhD) to overcome all obstacles for students, as the examinations were held in a calm atmosphere and without obstacles.

Within the framework of joint cooperation between the University of Technology in general and the Production Engineering and Metallurgy Department in particular and between the institutions of the industrial sector, and based on the direction of the Mrs. Head of the Production and Mineral Engineering Department Professor Dr. Mona Khudair Abbas and the Head of the Design and Manufacturing Engineering Branch with Computer Aided Assistant Professor Dr. Aseel Abd Hamad, each of the gentlemen Dr. Attia Abdel-Kazem Al-Zuhairi and Dr. Abdullah Faraj Hoyer visited the General Company for the Manufacture of Cars and Equipment in Alexandria, and after a tour inside the company’s departments, a number of company officials accompanied them. And human resources to collect a number of Chinese, Iranian and Malaysian saloon cars, as well as French trucks and tanker cars for a number of Iraqi investors. At the end of the tour, a meeting was held regarding the technical advice request submitted by the company to the university's advisory office. Engineer Salah Abdel-Saheb, the investment officer in the company, informed the university delegation about what was required in order to develop the company's capabilities at the technical level and raise the production capacity, and it was agreed upon Continue meetings and visits to reach the desired goal.

The head of the department inspected Prof. Mona Khudair Abbas The conduct of the first- examinations for postgraduate students (masters and doctoral degrees) for the academic year 2020/2021, accompanied by the scientific assistant, Prof. Dr.Muhannad Muhammad Hussain and Assistant Prof.Dr. Makarim Abdul Karim Hazem, Director of the Graduate Studies Division in the department, on Monday morning 3/15/2020, where she listened to the students' views on the nature of the questions and their conformity with the general method for the prescribed scientific subjects. She wished good luck to them. It is noteworthy that postgraduate examinations are performed in the presence of the department's examination committee.

The Production Engineering and Metallurgy  Department, in cooperate with the General Company for Mining Industries, holds a specialized symposium sponsored by the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban, and supervised by the Mrs. Head of the Production Engineering and Metallurgy Department, Professor Dr. Mona Khudair Abbas, and cooperation with the General Company for Mining Industries. The Production Engineering and Metallurgy Department / Mining and extracting minerals, has been set up  his specialized symposium entitled: (With science we serve and develop our industries) on Wednesday 3/3/2021 and on the FCC electronic platform, the symposium was opened with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, recited  by faculty member Assistant lecture Asaad Hasan Lafta, followed by words for the scientific assistant Prof. Haider Abdul-Dahd ,the representative of the President of the University of Technology, then the head of the Production Engineering and Metallurgy Department, Prof.Dr. Mona Khudair Abbas, and also the General Director of the General Company for Mining Industries, Engineer Riyad Jasim Kazem and Prof. Dr Sami Ibrahim al-Rubaie, head of the branch of mining engineering and extracting minerals. These words confirmed that Iraq has many ores that represent national wealth that should be extracted and invested in the service of the country. Then these words were followed by two scientific sessions, the first headed by Prof.Dr. Sami Ibrahim Al-Rubaie and the assistant lecture Shaima Talib included a working paper of the General Company for Mining Industries presented by  Senior chief Engineers Raghad Mohiuddin Jassim entitled (Future Prospects for Mining Industries in Iraq). And lecture.Dr. Zaman Karam Mikhilif, entitled (The Existence of Copper in the Water Associated with Crude Oil) and paper work of Assistant Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ahmed Ragab from the Department of Mechanical Technology / Central Technical University, entitled (The role of mining industries and mineral extraction in organizing the national economy and promoting human development). As for the second session, it was chaired by Assistant Prof. Dr. Abdel-Khaleq Hammoud and the programing leadership Assistant prof. Dr. Muhannad Farhan, where lecture Dr. Ahmed Falih Hussein submitted working paper entitled (Methods for treating Iraqi telegraph mud and its effect on the functional properties of oil well drilling mud) . lecture Dr. Nasser Kurdi Zeidan also submitted working paper entitled (Scientific and future prospects for the use of silicon in our national industries) as well as a working paper presented by Assistant Prof. Dr. Shaima Hadi Khudair / University of Babylon / College of Education for Pure Sciences with the title (Applications of Nanotechnology in Applied Industries). The symposium concluded with recommendations made by lecture Dr. Amjad Ibrahim confirmed that the results  of such seminars are the perpetuation of the link and cooperation between universities and the industrial sectors, and the introduction of scientific research carried out in universities within the plan to develop productive industries. The symposium was managed by journalist Prof.  Dr. Zuhair Shamma Ali.  It is mentioned that this seminar was held within the memorandum of understanding that was signed between the Production Engineering and Metallurgy Department and the State Company for Mining Industries on 2/24/2021.

A scientific visit for production engineering students to the Central Library at the University of Technology

             

 

 As a continuation of the work within the initiative of the President of the University of Technology for cooperation between the scientific departments and the central library at the university, and as a continuation of the series of scientific visits for students of the Production Engineering and Metallurgy Department, the Production Engineering Branch, one of the department’s branches, organized a scientific visit for the students of the junior stage in it to the Central Library, and the students were accompanied by each of Dr. Adel Ghanem Tohma and Assistant lecture. Asaad Ali Abbas, as well as a number of library officials and staff, received them. The students were informed of the library departments and halls, how to search for resources, and issue identification cards for the library and reading room in which there is free internet service during working hours.
