Dr. Muhammed A. Mahdi AL-Khafaji, a faculty member of the Department of Production Engineering and Metallurgy at the University of Technology-Iraq, participated in a training program on the Bologna process. This program was a component of the Memorandum of Understanding established between the University of Technology-Iraq and TU Bergakademie Freiberg in Germany since 2009. The training was conducted from September 9th to 13th, 2024, at TU Bergakademie Freiberg, specifically within the Department of Machine Elements Engineering Design and Manufacturing. The program was overseen by Prof. Dr. Henning Zeidler, Head of the Department, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdulkader Ali Kadauw, Project Coordinator. Asst. Prof. Mohanned M.H. AL-Khafaji, Head of the Department of Production Engineering and Metallurgy, served as the coordinator representing the University of Technology. This program was sponsored by Erasmus+.

Under the auspices of the Presidency of the University of Technology and the Department of Production and Mineral Engineering, a solidarity symposium was held entitled (Jerusalem Road Passes through Karbala) organized by (Techno Student Body) on Wednesday, 10/25/2023, in the hall of the late Professor Jassim Al-Hayani, in the presence of the Head of the Department of Production and Mineral Engineering, Prof. M.D. Muhannad Muhammad Hussein, the leader of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Hajj Abu Diaa Al-Saghir, a number of teachers and employees of the University of Technology, and a large number of students. The symposium opened with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, recited by the reciter Sheikh Hossam Al-Minshdawi, followed by a speech by the organization’s scouts, then a lecture by Sheikh Mustafa Al-Ansari, which addressed various topics aimed at supporting the Palestinian cause and condemning it. The Production Engineering Branch, one of the branches of the Production Engineering and Metallurgy Department, organized a scientific visit to the second gas power station of South Baghdad, accompanied by students of the third stage in the branch, on Monday, 3/20/2023, under the supervision of the branch head. Dr. Saad Karim Shather and a number of the branch's faculty member. The visit included giving a theoretical lecture about the station and its affiliated units by the engineers working in it, and the principle of the gas turbine and its associated control systems. The students made a field tour of one of the station's units and got acquainted with its parts, how it works and generates electric power, and visited a number of engineering workshops inside the station. One the other side, the supervisor of the scientific visit and the accompanying teaching delegation expressed their thanks and gratitude to the station's management and its employees for their efforts to provide all the needs and provide all facilities for the success of this visit.

Dr. Amjad Ibrahim Fadel Head of the Mining Engineering Branch and Mineral Extraction, one of the branches of the Production Engineering and Metallurgy Department Participated in technological incubator projects to the labor market, an exhibition for the products of creative university students, and a market for displaying handicrafts, which was set up by the Ministry of Industry and Minerals under the auspices of the Minister of Industry and Minerals, which carried the slogan. (Youth is a permanent, specific and inexhaustible treasure) and they participated in a graduation project entitled Design and manufacturing of field and laboratory digital point load tester. The project received the attention and praise of the minister and the visitors of the exhibition. That was on Tuesday 3/14/2023 in the main hall of the Industrial Research and Development Authority of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals.
